But they are under pressure from:

• human disturbance; people and dogs getting too close
• habitat loss; places for them to nest, feed and rest are destroyed
• severe weather events; effect their food supplies and migration patterns

You can help the Birds of Morecambe Bay

By following some simple advice when walking or carrying out recreational activities on the shoreline:

Do be mindful of birds feeding, resting and nesting. Many will have travelled long distances to get here and they their need space.

Do keep your dog on a short lead and away from roosting sites. Be a responsible dog owner and help the birds.
